Beer and football. All an Octopus needs...

I went to a football match last night. Its the first time I have ever been to a football match and I loved it.

Football is a game where two teams of big people kick a small ball around a big field for an hour and a half. The aim is to kick the ball between two bits of wood at one of the ends and not to let the other team kick it between their bits of wood at the other end. Its quite popular and i should be great at it because I have eight legs.

We started in a pub called the Brittannia and I had my picture taken with a Leyton Orient season ticket. Leyton Orient are a football team that play in London. They aren't very good but they do have a name with an 'O' in it and their nickname is 'The Os'. I like that. My name is Oscar and it starts with an 'O'. Here is a link to the Orient message board: http://leytonorient2.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=1

After that, I was put in someones pocket and taken out again to watch the game. There were lots of people there and lots of very bright lights. It was a very big stadium and instead of watching Leyton Orient (who secured a 3-3 draw against Gillingham), I had been taken to watch Arsenal (a very good team) against Porto (a team from Portugal).

It was a good game and Arsenal won 2-0 but the prices at the cafe at half time were very silly. 90p for a Mars bar? £1.50 for a small bottle of water? For that kind of price, I'd expect it to be passed personally by one of the team.

After the game, I went to a pub and got chatting to a group of Swedish people from Sweden. Then I went home and I'm now safely back on the Keeper's desk.

I did learn something new, though. Apparantly, theres this person called a referee and he's a w....
